When the mornings are cool, I’m back in South Africa. 

 

When I’m sweating, I’m back in Zambia.

 

When I’m running on the treadmill in my room, I’m back on the treadmill at the gym in Thailand. 

 

When I’m running outside, I’m running along the Mekong river in Laos.

 

When I’m cleaning my room, I’m back in Malawi cleaning my little radio station house. 


When I’m driving in my car, I’m ridding in a bus in Vietnam. 

 

When I’m dancing, I’m back in Zimbabwe. 

 

I go back. 

 

When I make eggs for breakfast, I’m back in Malawi. 

 

When I eat fried chicken, I’m back at the night market in Thailand. 

 

When I’m chasing my nieces and nephews, I’m back in Africa playing with all the children. 

 

When I’m sitting outside in the sun, I’m back in Zambia sitting outside cooking my food over a brazier. 

 

When I wear my bucket hat outside, I’m back in South Africa walking the dirt roads with Simon Peter, Michael and Crazy Dave. 

 

When I’m laughing with my family, I’m back in eight countries laughing with my teams, Overflow and Sea Salt. 

 

I go back.

 

When I wake up early in the morning, I’m back in Cambodia. 

 

When I eat eggs and toast for breakfast, I’m back at the Dream Home Hostel in Laos. 

 

When I’m singing, I’m back in an African church. 

 

When I play Monopoly Deal with my brothers, I’m back to the Talk 2 coffee shop in Cambodia learning to play for the first time with my squad mates. 

 

When I’m crying, I’m back in Vietnam. 


When I hear a certain song, I’m back in the country where I first heard the song. 

 

When I’m exercising, I’m back in Malawi doing BBG with Tiff and Amy. 

 

I GO back. 

 

But..

 

…I want to BE back. 

 

I GO back. 

 

But..

 

… I want to be GOING back.
