Learn more about what God is doing and how you can be praying

For those of you who may not have gotten, or previously seen my support letter, I’ve posted it below for you to read about my heart for missions, why I am doing the World Race and also the financial support that I need to be able to do the Race. It is my prayer that as you read this letter you see my heart and the Lord tugs at your heart to support me with your prayers and if the Lord leads, financially support me as well.

Dear Friends and Family,

Over the past nine years, from Mexico, to Baja, Mozambique, Thailand, and Burma I’ve been so blessed to have experienced so many other cultures and shared with them the love of Christ. When I got back from teaching in Mexico in June, I spent the following four months praying about what was next. Was the Lord going to keep me in the States or call me to another ministry out of the country? As I began applying for positions in state, the Lord kept closing the doors one after another. It was very frustrating and I didn’t understand why the Lord wasn’t opening any doors, but I kept praying and kept waiting. I was ready for another mission out of the country, but wanted to be obedient to staying in the States if that was what the Lord was calling me to. As each door closed in the States, the Lord lead me to come across a mission organization called Adventures in Missions. Adventures has several mission programs but the one that I was immediately drawn to was the World Race which is an 11 month “mission” in 11 different countries. The World Race desires to teach young people ages 21-35 how to live the life of a disciple of Christ and how to use this Race to teach them how to live a lifestyle on mission for Christ 24/7. The World Race sends out 500-700 Racers a year who serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, teach English, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, minister in hospitals and orphanages, evangelize, and anything else the Lord calls them to do. Their goal in each country is to cultivate long term, global change in people and projects that will continue long after Racers leave.

Hesitantly, yet hopeful, I took the first step of filling out an application to see if the Lord would open this door. Then I did a phone interview and the next week I was accepted! It all happened so fast, but the Lord continues to open the doors and has blessed and given peace every step of this adventure already! I am so excited and ready to go but at the same time thankful that I have the next several months to prepare myself spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally and financially. This may seem strange, but I’m already looking forward to all the hard, difficult times that I will face on the Race. The long travel days, the uncomfortable sleeping arrangements, the bucket showers, the awkward situations, the bug bites, and new cultures with languages I won’t understand. I’m excited and anticipate to be challenged spiritually like I never have been before and as a result have my relationship with God become deeper and sweeter. I could go and on about the World Race and would love to share with you about the more specific details of the Race, like the countries I am going to, and what my journey has been like so far. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime (405-650-2306) or if you have any specific questions you can feel free to email me at [email protected] or reach out on my Facebook page. I will be doing a few things over the next couple months to raise support and I’ll post all that information on my Facebook page and blog when I get more details. My blog link is khurrybullard.theworldrace.org where you can stay up-to-date with my financial support progress. My blog site will  also be my main way of communication both before the Race and during as I post updates, a weekly blog (hopefully) and prayer requests.

Like most missions organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise for their financial support. In order to be fully funded by August 1st (my departure date), I need to raise $19,200. This money will cover all my field expenses for the 11 months of the trip. If you want to be a part of my ministry and give there are a variety of easy ways that you can give. *You can make a check payable and send to Adventures in Missions, PO Box 742570 Atlanta, GA 30374-2570 and place my name in the Memo line. You can also give using your Credit/Debit card if you go to adventures.org/give or my blog link (see above). You can set these payments to be one time or recurring donations. Or you can set up an electric funds transfer (Bank) if you go to adventures.org/dynapay (monthly donations only). Any cash gifts can be sent to me and I can transfer the funds to my account with Adventures in Missions. Once I reach my goal, please do not keep giving on my blog site because that money will not continue to go towards my “funds”. If you would like to give once I have met my goal, you can send cash or a check addressed to me and mail to my home address. These funds will be used to cover the four additional in state flight tickets I will have to purchase, vaccines, prescriptions and gear (I’m budgeting between $1,500 and $2,000 for these additional expenses).

I am very excited, and greatly humbled, for yet another opportunity to travel this beautiful world that God has made and share with others through my words and actions about the love of Christ and the treasure that I have in Him. Thank you for partnering with me in prayer and considering to partner with me financially as the Lord leads. Pray for me these next several months as I work, fundraise and prepare myself in all aspects for this journey.

Many blessings,

Khurry Bullard
