Learn more about what God is doing and how you can be praying

Who doesn’t love a good run? Ok, a lot of people, but don’t worry cause I’ll be the one running. I am so excited to be running my first half marathon in this year’s OKC Memorial Marathon on April 28th. This run will also be the first fundraiser for my World Race. I’m calling it “The Run B4 The Race”. My goal is to finish, whether it takes me 2 hours or 7 hours. I really have no expectations for this run other than to have fun as I train and to enjoy doing something that I have never done before. This half marathon is helping me to physically prepare for the 2.2 mile hike during training camp in June that I will have to complete in under 38 minutes. Easy right? Oh I forgot to mention that I have to wear my 40-50 pound pack that will be holding everything that I will be using for a year, as well as a front pack that will be about 10 pounds so…maybe not so easy =] My goal for this fundraiser is to raise $5,000. It’s a scary goal, one I’m a little afraid to set, but I’m putting it out there, expecting great things from God. In my Perspectives class last week we read about the lives of missionaries like Adoniram Judson, Hudson Taylor, and William Carey. One quote by William Carey that I’ve been thinking about every day since is, “Expect great things from God. Attempt great things for God.” Expect, attempt. Faith, action. I’m usually really good at the action part. It’s the faith part that I struggle with. But God is teaching me, and by His grace I’m slowly learning and allowing Him to change me. I’m excited to sit back (and by sit back I mean go run on the treadmill) and watch how God provides through this fundraiser.

So who’s in with me? This is my run before the Race. Will you partner with me in this run before my real Race begins? All donations that I receive between now and mid May will go towards my $5,000 goal for this fundraiser. The best way to give is on my blog (tax deductible), you can also mail cash or a check to me, or send donations through Venmo (@Khurry-Bullard). Message me with any questions.

Ready, set, run!
