I love the thought of getting a message in a bottle from back home either while I’m in Argentina or Vietnam, washing up on the coastline. But I know both the practicality and reality of that ever happening are quite slim. However, I would still love to get letters, even if it’s only in an envelope, while I am on my Race so I am beginning to collect letters to take with me. Thanksgiving letters, Christmas letters, Birthday cards, Words of Encouragement letters, Just Because letters, When You’re Missing Home letters, When You Need a Laugh letters, When Times Get Hard letters, When Things are Good letters, etc.
If you would like to write a letter for me to take on my Race please mail it to my home address (14901 SE 51st St. Choctaw, OK 73020) to arrive before August 1st and on the backside of the envelope write when I am suppose to read the letter. Whether it’s a specific date (Open on Christmas Day!) or a specific occasion (Open when you are missing home.) I would love to have a dozen or so letters to take with me and open every so often on my Race. You can always leave messages on my blog or shoot me an email while I am gone (which I would love for you to do), but there’s something special to me about reading a hand written card from someone back home that brings home a little bit closer to wherever I am in the world.
I leave in less than 3 weeks! All the emotions, good and bad, are beginning to collide as I prepare all the last minute details. God has been so good to me through it all and I know He will remain faithful ’til the end and not just the end of this mission trip, but ’til the end of my life. What a privilege to get to take the Gospel around the world and grow the kingdom of God. I look forward to receiving your letters and I promi… will try my best to not open them until the day you specify:)
What a fabulous idea!
Thanks Miss Paddy!
Yes great idea! You may not get a letter in a bottle, but our father has some big things planned for you- prayers as you get ready to leave!
Great idea with the letters Khurry!
I wonder what that will turn into over the course of this experience
